According to a publication in the Citizen-Times, the Sawyer Motor Company Building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979 owing to its prominent role in Asheville’s early automobile culture. Later on in 2001 however, preservationist renovation would see the building reimagined and converted into Sawyer Motor Condos.
