Broadway Asheville Condo Guide
These single-family townhomes are brand-new, and construction will be completed this year. They remind you of the coveted brownstones located in the Upper West Side of Manhattan. But they have their own unique feel. Well-respected developers Jay Lurin and Kevin Kerr worked with a local Asheville Architectural firm, Rowhouse Architects, to design homes that fit in with the Arts and Crafts style home prevalent in the Montford Area Historic District.
Building Exclusivity
There will be 20 homes; the project completion date is the summer of 2021. There are 3 designs a prospective buyer can choose from. They range in size from 3000 gross square feet to 3800 gross square feet, including a ground-level 2-3 car garage, roof-top porch, and additional balconies. Each design, varying in prices from 895,000 to 1,295,000 plus, includes its own elevator, hardwood floors without, a rear-entrance balcony, custom-built cabinetry, and a kitchen any gourmet chef would salivate over. All three plans artfully combine function with elegant panache. The townhouses have anywhere from 3-4 bedrooms, and all have 3 ½ baths. And they are not just bedrooms; each one is a polished, classy suite that you would want to claim as the master. And as an added benefit, you can choose the plan that tailors to your lifestyle.
Luxury Amenities
The grounds are beautifully landscaped and include a greenway space for your beloved pet, a creek to enjoy that is being restored to its former glory, and Energy-Star Construction. There will also be 10-feet wide sidewalks which will allow for entire families.
Parking/Transportation
Each home has a covered garage on the ground floor to protect your car with garage-level secure storage.
Walkability
The Biltmore Asheville offers proximity to two distinctive neighborhoods: the River Arts District and Montford Area Historic District. And these townhouses are located only one block from downtown!
Building Construction
Jay Lurie and Kevin Kerr, developers of The Broadway, also co-developed The Pioneer Building, a 29-unit mixed-use development completed in 2009; 37 Montford Avenue, a 10,000 square foot office building designed to meet the Montford Historic District’s design guidelines; and The Grove at Haw Creek-a single-family Arts and Crafts style master-planned community.
Culture and Arts
The Montford Area Historic District is a delight to behold. This restored neighborhood is filled with lush gardens, ornate Victorian Beds and Breakfasts, and old one-of-a-kind houses. There are no cookie-cutter homes here. It is a walkable community with sidewalks that invite you to spend your day there. Also, there are some restaurants that locals enjoy taking a date to Nine Mile and Chiesa. Do you enjoy poking around in an old cemetery to get your scare on? Visit the Historic Riverside Cemetery, where Thomas Wolfe, the renowned author, was buried. Prefer something a little more cultured? Attend a play during the season by the Montford Park Players, the longest Shakespeare troupe in NC. There is a playground for the kids, so bring a picnic basket and enjoy your day at the park.
Pet-Friendly Living
These townhomes are single-family homes; pets are allowed. They have an ideal green space allocated specifically for your furry friends.

In the Press
Great insights about the building, development, and history.
According to Jason Sanford on November 8, 2018, a reporter and blogger for Ashvegas.com, residences in the surrounding communities of Montford and Five Points were not in favor of the development of The Broadway Asheville. The developers, Jay Lurin and Kevin Kerr, listened and revised their initial plans and made conscientious changes. They reconciled and agreed to build “a very tasteful architecturally designed low-density residential project.”
